Valley Center Municipal Water District serves mostly agriculture in the beautiful town of Valley Center, which is located northeast of Escondido in North San Diego County. Approximately 24,000 people live within the District. The District covers 100 square miles of which approximately 59% receives water services. Under immediate supervision, incumbents are responsible for performing routine administrative support activities in support of a department to include: typing and preparing correspondence, opening and distributing mail, receiving incoming phone calls.
Incumbents are responsible for performing routine office and administrative support activities in support of the Districts Consumer Services Division to include: receiving incoming phone calls, greeting and assisting customers with billing questions, signing up new customers, processing payments, opening and distributing mail, and assisting higher level staff.

The Valley Center Municipal Water District is recruiting to fill two Engineering Technician positions within our Engineering Department. Placement within the Technician II or III designation will be dependent upon prior experience and job knowledge.
Incumbents are expected to perform a wide range of increasing complex duties depending on experience levels related to engineering support activities to include, but not limited to, the following: customer service, engineering records processing and maintenance, computer drafting, geographic information system utilization, surveying, easement preparation and review, facility construction inspection, utility mark-outs, plan review, material submittal review, water and wastewater design, and project coordination assistance.
