Valley Center Municipal Water District serves mostly agriculture in the beautiful town of Valley Center, which is located northeast of Escondido in North San Diego County. Approximately 24,000 people live within the District. The District covers 100 square miles of which approximately 59% receives water services. This is a professional level class and is responsible for performing the full range of human resources duties. Incumbents are responsible for performing activities related to recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, benefits administration and employee relations.
Incumbents perform inspections of construction projects and interprets contract specifications to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and contract provisions. Inspects a variety of new construction projects such as sewer mains and lateral installations, underground pipelines and fire hydrants to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications. Inspects private development projects. Responsible for locating and marking District facilities, working with customer service to ensure encroachment and easement policies are followed. Must have the ability to work independently on a variety of inspections and construction projects. Incumbent may be required to work a varied workweek, different shifts and respond to emergencies as necessary.
