Valley Center Municipal Water District serves mostly agriculture in the beautiful town of Valley Center, which is located northeast of Escondido in North San Diego County. Approximately 24,000 people live within the District. The District covers 100 square miles of which approximately 59% receives water services. The District provides a highly desirable, comprehensive employee benefits package. Post-offer physical, drug screening, background investigation and acceptable proof of right to work is required.   • Project Manager

Incumbents provide professional level project management for a variety of capital improvement and developer funded projects for the District and are responsible for providing professional level project management for a variety of capital improvement and developer funded projects to include: oversight of consultants involved in design, engineering service and construction projects; project planning, research and analysis activities related to water, sewer, and water reclamation projects; oversight of subordinates, consultants, and contractors.

  • Construction Inspector
    Closing Date: August 2, 2019, or when 30 applications are received, whichever comes first.

Incumbents perform inspections of construction projects and interprets contract specifications to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and contract provisions. Inspects a variety of new construction projects such as sewer mains and lateral installations, underground pipelines and fire hydrants to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications. Inspects private development projects. Responsible for locating and marking District facilities, working with customer service to ensure encroachment and easement policies are followed. Must have the ability to work independently on a variety of inspections and construction projects. Incumbent may be required to work a varied workweek, different shifts and respond to emergencies as necessary.
