The Valley Center Municipal Water District Board of Directors’ special meeting was called to order by President Broomell at 2:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Board members present were: Directors Broomell, Aleshire, Stone and Haskell. Director Polito was absent. Staff members present were: General Manager Arant, General Counsel Cowett, District Engineer Jewell, Director of Operations Dacus, Director of Finance Jeffrey, Board Secretary Stetson and Engineering Services Supervisor Gootee. Spectator present was Brian Mooney of Mooney & Associates.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION ITEMS
1. The following items were reviewed:
~ Board of Directors’ Photographs. A photography session has been arranged for Monday, October 4th in the Board Room beginning at 1:30 p.m. to digitally photograph the Board members. These photos will be used for a new display in the Board Room and the digital format will be beneficial for future uses. It was the consensus of the Board that they would wear a suit and tie for the photographs to have a uniform appearance.
~ A.C.W.A. 2004 Fall Conference. The Association of California Water Agencies’ Fall Conference will be held in Palm Springs beginning November 30th. Reservations at an hotel adjacent to the Palm Springs Convention Center have been processed and Board members were asked to inform staff if they would be attending the conference and, if so, their conference registration requests.
~ Elimination of Proposed Bi-National (Mexican) Pipeline. The San Diego County Water Authority Board adopted the recommendations of its Member Agency Rate Impact Review Committee and has eliminated further consideration of a bi-national aqueduct and will be focusing on the supply from the west, desalination.
